Climax Studios is a vibrant, creative development studio which specialises in making character action games, although we have a rich heritage in all genres in our 23 year history. We have over 120 development staff on site across all disciplines. We are currently developing games on PS3, XB360, very high performance PC, Vita, browser PC and iOS. In addition we have published titles on PSN and XBLA.
We have development experience of all console formats and are registered developers with Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Apple. We are working on announced games with Sony XDev, Sony Studios London, Microsoft Studios and on an unnanounced game with a very high profile publisher. In the recent past we have worked with Activision, Konami Europe, Konami America, Codemasters and 2K games.
Simon has worked in the games industry since 1992. He joined Microprose in 1993 as a 3D modeller and then went on to found several studios for Sony Psygnosis and continued his career with Sony as Development Director. He moved to Rage PLC in 2000 as the Company Development Manager and joined Climax in 2003 as a Studio Head. He was appointed CEO of Climax Studios in 2008.
Simon studied architecture and qualified in 1993. The engineering and artistic disciplines of that profession map very well to the games industry, which has similar tensions between creativity, technology and delivery.
With a strong passion for both the traditional and digital arts linked with over 11 years experience in the industry, Glenn excels in directing and leading the studio's various teams of like minded, talented people.
With strong artistic direction Glenn guides and assists teams to visualize, create and complete original and innovative products
With more than 17 years experience in the industry James is always looking for and rising to every technical challenge he can find. After 10 years at Climax working directly on teams, James now leverages his experience across the entire studio in the role of Technical Director.
Rhys’ career began in TV working as an animator on commercials and films. In 1994 he moved into the games industry as an artist before becoming a designer and then lead designer working on Snes, Megadrive, N64, PS2, Xbox, PC, Gamecube and online titles.
In 2006 Rhys joined Climax Studios as their Design Director where he is responsible for ensuring quality across all the studio’s games including key titles such as Silent Hill: Origins, Rocket Knight, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and EyePet.
